International perspective of Hanoi 20 years ago

Vietnam entered the innovation period in 1993. After the wartime, the country began building its economy and nothing can record that change by photography.


70 international photographers traveled along Vietnam within one week to record the truest pictures of the country in this particular period. Later, the photos were published in a photo book titled “Passage to Vietnam”.


Below are some photos from this book, featuring a Hanoi in the renovation period, with special changes.
