Fine art exhibition, ‘Destination II’, opened this afternoon at the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum, No.66 Nguyen Thai Hoc Street, Hanoi.

Under the theme ‘Inner Freedom’, the exhibition showcases 38 new works of art from fine art photographers, artists and painters from America, Malaysia and Vietnam called Atiqah Yusof, Yusof Ghani, Zaim Bin Durusalam, Awang Damid Ahmad, John D’Agostino, Larry D’Attilio, Brant Kingman, Ngo Hai Yen, Ngo Van Sac and Dang Tu Thu.

Most of the works on exhibit reference portraiture in some way, with multi-faced portraits by Brant Kingman, eyes beholding obsession by Dang Tu Thu, mask-like portraits by Yusof Ghani and faces displaying emotion from happiness to sadness by Ngo Van Sac.

“The art works take the public to a world of freedom in one’s spirit”, said Thao, a visitor.

The highlight of the exhibition is John D’Agostino’s works, which are abstract expressions derived from the glass creations of Louis Comfort Tiffany, American’s best known art glass designer.

Nguyen Tam, organiser of the exhibition, said that ‘DestinationII’ is the follow up to ‘Destination I’ organised two years ago. She wishes to contribute to building up the Avant – garde artmarket in Vietnam.

The exhibition offers a good chance for international and Vietnamese artists to meet and exchange experiences, according to American photographer Larry D’Attilio.

The exhibition runs until January 26.
